Library Policy

God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love—like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do. He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love.    Ephesians 4:14-16  (The Message)

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of the TVBC Church Library is to serve our congregation with Christian media resources that assist in Placing the Heart of God in the Hearts of People. We also strive to adhere to the beliefs, values, and goals of TVBC and the standards of the Baptist Faith and Message.

We will fulfill this mission by providing our members with resources in the Spiritual Growth Journey areas of Discipleship, Worship, Ministry and Service, Prayer, Stewardship Giving, Evangelism, Missions, and Fellowship. In addition, Christian autobiographies and biographies, family resources, media appropriate for varying age groups, and Christian fiction are available.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE

NON-CHRISTIAN and SECULAR media (including cookbooks, home improvement, etc.) are no longer accepted or available in the TVBC library. A few resource books of other religions are available for research. Titles related to religious groups and their beliefs should be objective in content. Materials should nurture the believer, proclaim the gospel, and call us to ministry and worship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

LIBRARY MAINTENANCE

The TVBC Library will be continually reviewed and each item evaluated as to its current value in meeting the needs of users. Space must always be available to house current, quality media that will best benefit our church ministries, members, guests and those we serve.

BOOK CLUBS

We encourage TVBC members to form organized book clubs. This can be done monthly or quarterly and apply to Christian fiction or non-fiction books. The library is available for these small group meetings.

GIFT/DONATION POLICY

All donations of books and media are subject to approval by the Library Ministry Team with the church leadership having the final authorization. If you wish to donate, please adhere to rules set forth in the TVBC Library Donation Policy. Monetary donations are encouraged. Place cash or checks made out to TVBC in a Library Envelope and drop in the offering plate or the lock box beside the church office. All non-monetary donations must be in like-new condition and current (published within the past 5 years).
